PaulBR: Making your own talking board can be very easy and quite effective. A homemade version of the Ouija (or any talking board) will work just as well as a store bought board.
It can be as simple as writing the alphabet and numbers on a piece of paper, along with any other symbols that have significance for you. Use an upturned wineglass or water tumbler as your planchette. You can also go crazy and sand a great piece of wood, get a router, and spend weeks on the 'perfect' talking board.
Hi ya, Can bad spirits actually do anything bad to you, can any spirit do anything bad to you at all. Is there a way of getting rid of bad spirits? Thanks,

Bad spirits can be a serious danger! Always check the label to make sure that you are working with a decent vintage. If it is bad, then pour the contents down the drain immediately!
A Note of Caution: Many people attempting to get rid of bad spirits have had the spirits return. We get letters which tell of throwing the vessel away, only to have it reappear in the house the next day. Some instances reveal how the bad spirits burst into flame when their owners attempted to burn them!!
What do the four corners of the ouija board on your web page represent?
JenniferBR:The traditional William Fuld/Parker Brothers board shows the sun in the top left corner, and the waning moon in the top right corner.
In most Western metaphysical teachings (such as the Tarot) the Sun signifies a positive (YES) answer and the Moon a negative (NO) answer. The two illustrations at the bottom corners show a seance in progress. Note the disembodied head being channeled by the medium. Kinda 1940's cute, isn't it?
Ouija boards dating from the 1920's until the 1940's showed a Full Moon for YES and the Waxing Moon for NO.
Hi, love your site. But just wondering, can you call upon spirits to talk to by name? Also how come my ouija board only works with my friend amy? Whenever i use with any of my other friends it doesn't work.
W.D.BR: Alas, I do not know any spirits personally, so that precludes my calling upon them. Although I do not know of any reason not to try. Harry Houdini's widow attempted to contact Harry, presumably by name, for many years following his death. I might add that she was never successful.
If you are using a talking board with another person or persons who are not attuned to your purpose, then your results will invariably be bad. Also, certain people are much better at accessing their intuitive sides than others.
The other day when I slept over at my friend's house we made our own ouija board out of cardboard and lit incense under the moonlight and tried the board. It answered all out questions, but a lot of the things it told us did not turn out t be true. Just Kidding! Here's an analogy for you: Do you believe everything that you see on television or hear from your friends? Of course not. Use common sense and a modicum of intelligence and savvy. As with any news you receive, check the source of the information.

The Cabin Fever Curiosities Laboratory and Testing Facilities no longer recommend the use of psychotropic drugs while operating a moving Ouija board. Our research has shown that using the aforementioned drugs can result in permanent brain damage and irreversible possession by demonic entities. Our previous Research Coordinator was fired after his maniacal laughing triggered an outbreak of Imps and Lesser Demons. He claimed that the Ouija board was telling him what to ask, and then answering these same questions!

many people have the same misconception that you do. In fact, Ouija boards are real. I am holding one in my hand right now. It does not dematerialize when I set it on the desk. Unfortunately, my copy of Monopoly vanished, right after I channelled the Parker Brothers through it.
Ouija boards do work. You can make up your own mind on how they do!
There are many good sites now on the web dealing with talking boards and Ouija. The original, and best, is The Museum of Talking Boards.
Unfortunately, You will also find pages and pages of trash written by the ignorant,gullible and naive. As stated before, just use common sense when delving into your research.
Talking board is the generic term for any Ouija type board. There have been hundreds of different talking boards manufactured since the early 1900's. The most famous of which is Ouija. In my collection are boards with Witches, Swamis, Egyptian Gods, and many other motifs. Naturally, the boards with Witches pictured were known as Witch boards. In the 1940's the witch depicted on many of these boards was a dead ringer for the Snow White witch.
